What I do

I’m CTO at RSG (Remark Solutions Asia). The company has worked in insurance distribution since 1984 and now operates in five markets: Japan, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

My job covers the systems behind that business, including policy admin, customer platforms, marketing automation and data. Right now a big part of it is getting AI out of the demo stage and into the work people actually do every day.

Before RSG I was CIO for Retail at TIME, where we overhauled the business support systems and rebuilt the online and offline sales channels. Before that I was VP Engineering at KoinWorks, setting up and migrating core systems for a digital bank and a rural bank. Earlier on I was a CTO and a CEO, building delivery teams.

Most of my career has been in regulated businesses running on legacy systems. What I’ve learned there is that you can move fast, as long as you don’t spend customer trust doing it.
